SETTING UP THE SKY

REMOTE CONTROL

BRAND STEP AND SET (4-DIGIT CODE)
With this method you will programme the remote using a 4-digit code obtained from the list at the back of this handout When you do this the remote will step through all the codes it knows for that brand
You can use this method when none of the 3 digit codes work, or the list is too long to try them all.
Look up the 4-digit brand number from the list at the back of this handout.

· Switch on TV,
· Press TV BUTTON on SKY Remote,
· Press and hold the SELECT and the RED buttons for 2 seconds, (LED flashes twice),
· Press TV BUTTON,
· Key in the 4-digit code, Then Press SELECT (LED flashes twice),
· Press the STANDBY BUTTON on the remote,
· IF TV goes into Standby press the SELECT button,
· If the TV does not, press TV BUTTON then STANDBY again.., repeat until TV goes off then press SELECT.


NOTE. If the LED flashes THREE times during this procedure then all of the codes have been tried.


BLINK BACK
Once the Remote Control has been programmed to operate the TV using the 4-digit code the correct 3-digit code can be established for that model by using a process called BLINK BACK.

We are going to get the Remote to blink its LED to us to correspond with the code.

· Press TV BUTTON on Remote,
· Press and hold the SELECT and the RED buttons for 2 seconds, (LED flashes twice).
· Key in 990, (LED flashes twice).
· Press the I button and count the LED flashes, this is the first digit
· Press the 2 button, count the LED flashes, this is the second digit
· Press the 3 button, count the LED flashes, this is the third digit.

PROGRAMMING FOR RF CONNECTION
When the Digibox and the TV are connected via a SCART lead the TV will switch over automatically to the Satellite channel when the Digibox is turned on. When connected via the RF lead only, it will not.
When using the remote control under these circumstances the TV and Digibox will usually have to be separately controlled in order to watch Satellite. The Digibox Remote can be programmed, however, to switch the TV over to the Satellite channel automatically whenever the SKY button is pressed.
·Tune a spare channel on the TV into the Digibox RF channel (68)
· Note the spare channel number (for example 9).
· Press TV on SKY remote.
· Press and hold the SELECT and the GREEN buttons for 2 seconds, (LED flashes twice).
· Key in spare channel No. (in this case 9).
· Press SELECT.


NOTE. More than one digit can be entered. If, for instance, Programme number 12 were to be used on the TV you could key in 1 —2. (4 keys maximum).


The HELP key on the SKY Remote is equivalent to the AV channel on the TV. This
would be useful if you had connected via SCART but had been forced to turn off
SCART control on the Digibox.


RESETTING THE SKY REMOTE
The SKY Remote can be reset to factory settings (cleared out) using the following procedure.
· Press TV BUTTON on Remote,
· Press and hold the SELECT and the RED buttons for 2 seconds, (LED flashes twice).
· Key in 999, (LED flashes twice).

STUCK KEY TIME OUT
If any key on the remote is pressed for more than 30 seconds, the remote will shut down to conserve battery power. It will remain shut down until all the buttons are released. In the event that a key gets stuck down this is worth remembering.
